Along with my other life guarding job I do enjoy this position as well. With so much of the Penn State community around me its hard not to get involved. Guarding at the Penn State Harrisburg Aquatics Center is a lot of fun. Our aquatics manager does a really great job of keeping us focused and positive during our shifts, keeping with the same Penn State virtues. While working, I am responsible for keeping patrons safe while they swim. That is my number one concern.

My time at Mount Gretna Lake & Beach was phenomenal. I was able to work around many younger and older co-workers. Everyday I served patrons of all ages, such as delivering swim tests to little kids or applying first aid around the facility. While life guarding the work responsible is mentioned a lot. The biggest responsibility is keeping those patron safe. Safety is the number one concern. To make sure patrons were safe, us lifeguards had to rely on our quick decision making skills.
